Objective of the Workpackage 3 - Review is to compile an overview of data on reference conditions and existing assessment methods using benthic invertebrates, fish, phytobenthos, macrophytes and river habitat surveys, national standards on sampling, analysis and quality evaluation, related national projects and existing databases.

The waterview database contains a comprehensive compilation
of assessment methods for rivers and streams in Europe
using the 'biotic elements' macroinvertebrates, macrophytes, phytobenthos,
phytoplankton, fish and hydromorphology.
